Wally Warning was born on the Antillian island of Aruba as the son of Guianan parents. As a boy Wally knew that he always wanted to devote his life to music. In the company of Venezuelan fishermen he secretly learned to play his first instrument, the Cuatro, a small rhythm guitar with four strings. Soon he began to copy the singing of his pop idol at the time „Otis Redding“ and made a name for himself in Aruba playing with different bands. At the age of seventeen he went to Europe. In the Netherlands he won the Polydor Songcontest where his title „The world needs love“ entered the charts. In England his cover version from the „Pioneers“ became a hit as well.

Musically Wally Warning developed further. Through his love to singing and composing music he learned to play several instruments and developed his own style of playing the bass. Soon thereafter he played with „Sam and Dave“ and the Blues legend „Lightnin Hopkins“. He moved to Germany where he played with “Snowball” (Curt Cress at the drums) and the rock trio “Tax” (Wesley Plass, Eberhard Wilhelm). Apart from his live projects he was also known in the disco-scene with the song “Land of Hunger” (Metronom Records).
